Development Update 23/03/2021

Hi everyone! Nathan here again, popping in to give you a quick update on everything that’s happened over the last few weeks. Unfortunately some personal issues meant that we’re a little late on this update, but that means you get even more updates in this build, which is detailed below! We’re moving full-steam ahead into our last few months of development, so look forward to more updates and additions soon, as well as more updates on what’s happening!

  • Updates to the Visuals of the Start Screen, including a new colour background
  • The revolver is now textured!
  • Armour added to enemies, which can be removed by the Newton’s Arm
  • New enemy animations implemented
  • Improved hit detection and shot spread refinement to weapons.
  • Visual update and additions to both the Casino and Subway levels (Including textures for the Casino)
  • Layout change to Subway level
  • New interaction for the Newton’s arm for a puzzle within the Subway

As always, please remember that this is a game still in development, so what you see may not be final. If you find any bugs or issues, please get in touch at our twitter @PneumaticDev. We’re also hard at work on adding in the final major addition to the game, the Museum level! Keep an eye out for more information on that soon.

So what about us on a more personal level? Well working through lockdown is still rough on many of us. Some of us have had deeply personal things come up recently, so some of us have had to take breaks at times, but the rest of the team is working to support anyone who needs time to recover, whilst also making sure that the development is progressing smoothly (the occasional meme drop, dog picture, or occasional bit of banter definitely helps). The biggest news though is that the Games Academy in Falmouth recently reopened to students! This means we get time to work on our game in person with the team, with PCs fully up to spec! I’ll be the first to admit that being able to work in person has done wonders for my own morale.

That’s about it for this week. On behalf of myself and the team, we hope you all enjoy playing this build of Lunertia!
